Description
We offer natural juniper berry hydrolate for pharmaceuticals, obtained from the plant Juniperus communis. In international practice, the hydrolate from the fruit is designated as Juniper Berry natural hydrolate for pharmaceuticals. The species belongs to the Cupressaceae family. Only the ripe fruit goes into the raw material, and it is a female cone whose scales fuse completely and form a continuous and dense fleshy interior. The unripe cones remain reddish, while the ripe ones turn blue-black with a dense waxy bloom. The plantations in Bulgaria grow under a natural cultivation regime without synthetic agents. The purity of the aroma relies on the steam distillation of ripe, unfermented fruits, since no foreign solvents are used at all during extraction. The aqueous phase collects the oxygenated volatile compounds, and the scent originates from them. The aroma reaches a strong degree of intensity. Freshness and the pine side find a resinous support in the overall scent of the distillate. The main part of the volatile fraction comes from monoterpene hydrocarbons, among which pinene, myrcene and sabinene stand out. The liquid remains clear, and its color ranges from colorless to pale yellow within narrow limits. The fruit raw material accounts for the faint color, since the water carries away almost only colorless substances, while the pigments remain in the fleshy part of the cone. The entirely natural composition contains no preservatives and colorants. In addition, the natural cultivation rules and the narrowly selected fruit leave only plant volatile substances and completely pure water in the liquid. The clear liquid, the strong scent and the faint color define the final appearance of juniper berry hydrolate.
